TRB Rajaa sworn in as minister in TN; his father TR Baalu has this request to him | Chennai News – Times of India

CHENNAI: Mannargudi MLA TRB Rajaa was sworn in as minister by governor R N Ravi on Thursday.
The governor administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rajaa in the Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan. He is expected to helm the industries department, the portfolio held by Thangam Thennarasu since the DMK took charge in Tamil Nadu in 2021.
Chief minister M K Stalin and cabinet colleagues were present in the swearing in, along with members of Rajaa’s family.
Rajaa is the son of former Union minister and DMK parliamentary party leader T R Baalu.
Thanking the chief minister for including his son in the cabinet, Baalu said, “My request to Rajaa is to work efficiently on the advice of the chief minister and develop Tamil Nadu.”
The cabinet rejig comes in the wake of ‘audio clips,’ where a voice purportedly of finance minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan is heard saying that Stalin’s family amassed wealth. PTR is likely to move to the information technology and digital services department and he will be replaced by Thangam Thennarasu. IT and digital services minister Mano Thangaraj would head dairy development and animal husbandry department, sources said.
