Setting aside time from his political schedule, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma – along with his colleagues – went out to watch the recently released film, Article 370. He hailed the ‘real heroes’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, for the decision over the law.

The Assam CM stepped out with MP Pabitra Mergherita, Pallav Lochan Das, recently joined BJP MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purakayashtha and other party MLAs to watch the film at a multiplex in Guwahati.

Terming the film to be ‘truly informative’, Sarma urged everyone to go and watch it.

Talking to reporters after watching ‘Article 370’, the Assam chief minister said, “Today, I, along with some of my ministerial colleagues and MLAs we watched Article 370 movie. The removal of Article 370 in J&K is a big decision. The key man behind this bold decision is our Prime Minister Modiji; our Home Minister Amit Shah’s effort to pass the bill in the Parliament and the role of the security forces to implement the decision, all of it has been nicely depicted in the movie. We enjoyed the movie. I request everyone to come and watch the movie once.”

Taking to X, Sarma shared his thoughts about the movie and said, “Today we watched the movie Article 370 with our workers. This film has shown the decision of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji’s government to abrogate Article 370 and the way the Honorable Home Minister Shri @AmitShahji got this amendment passed in the House.”

Notably, the Assam CM did not comment or speak on anything related to politics. However, he replied to a question over Congress MP Abdul Khaleque’s resignation from the grand old party a few days back. He said, “We never asked Khaleque to join BJP, neither had he contacted us; so we can’t say what will be his next step.”

Aditya Suhas Jambhale is the director of the film as well as a co-writer on the script. Other writers of the film are Aditya Dhar, Arjun Dhawan and Mohan Thaakar. The film released worldwide on February 23, 2024.
