Home Minister Amit Shah discusses work-life balance ahead of Lok Sabha polls, sharing insights at the Rising Bharat Summit

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday spoke on how he manages work-life balance in his hectic schedule — more so ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections starting April 19

“I am not able to find time for my family, but my family takes out time for me,” Shah said at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit. He made these remarks in the presence of his wife who was in the audience. His response came after he was asked how he took time out for home and how he ensured “work-wife” balance. On the second day of the mega summit, Shah opened up about a host of political and national issues, including the successes achieved by the BJP-led government during Narendra Modi’s two terms.

On a question about a recent Chinese statement asserting their claim on the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, Shah said, “They have been saying it since the times of Jawaharlal Nehru. At that time, they had even captured a big part. I was not born then in 1962. But under the Modi government, no one can dare to even take an inch of land at any Indian border, this is our promise to the people of Bharat.”

The Home Minister also expressed his view on the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down electoral bonds. “The Supreme Court’s decision is binding on all citizens and I respect their verdict on electoral bonds. But my personal opinion is that bonds had almost ended black money in politics. This is why the entire INDIA bloc led by Rahul Gandhi was against the bonds and they wanted the old system of cut money to rule over politics once again,” he said.
