In the coastal city of Tajura, east of Tripoli, volunteers are serving portions of Bazin, a traditional Libyan dish made with barley, water, and salt. This meal, akin to Italian polenta or West African fufu, is being distributed to needy families during the Muslim holy fasting month of Ramadan. Bazin, originally a Berber dish, is a classic family meal from Tripolitania, the historic northwestern region of Libya. (AFP)
