It was Dinesh Karthik, however, who really made sure that RCB are not humiliated at their own home by scoring 83 in 35 balls. All these contributions meant that RCB ended with a score of 262/7, just one run behind their own highest ever IPL total of 263/5 which they had scored against the Pune Warriors in 2013.
