When Term ‘Noob’ Cracked Up ‘Coolest PM’ as Modi Played Video Games with Top Gamers – News18

After National Creators Award, the fun and vibrant side of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was at display again during his interaction with India’s top gamers on Saturday. Impressed by PM’s jovial side, the gamers gave him the title of “NaMo OP”, where ‘OP’ means “overpowered”.

The gamers not only interacted with PM Modi, but also played video games with him. After a few rounds of gaming, the prime minister laughed and remarked, “Bhagwaan kare mujhe iski aadat na lage (I pray to God I don’t get addicted to this).”

PM Narendra Modi was seen effortlessly immersing himself in the zeitgeist of contemporary influence. When a gamer Animesh ‘Thug’ Agarwal was introducing himself and nervously said, “I started studying at a young age,” the prime minister — easily comfort him and get him in the groove — replied: “Young age mein hi sab padhai karte hain (All start formal schooling at a young age).”

This reply by the prime minister filled the room with laughter, instantly making the young gamers open up with ease. The youngster in PM Modi didn’t stop there. Going on to the next gamer, who was from Gujarat, the PM asked: “Bhuj mein yeh bimaari kahan se aayi? (From where did this gaming fever reach Bhuj?).” He also mentioned his viral “yeh PUBG wala hai kya” moment from 2019.

Impressed by his humour, the gamers called him the “coolest PM” and “country’s biggest influencer”. One of the gamers remarked that the way Modi interacts with youngsters, it doesn’t seem there’s such an age difference between them and the PM.

“Kisne bola age difference hai? Mai baal colour karke white karta hoon taaki lage mai mature hoon. (Who said there’s age difference? I colour my hair grey to look mature),” PM Narendra Modi said with a laughter.

He further suggested gamers to create online games on climate change, swachhta (cleanliness), and “may be on Lord Hanuman” too.

The gamers then taught PM Modi some gaming terminologies like “grind”, which they said means “working hard”. Another word that they mentioned was “noob” — a newbie, whose participation and interactions display a lack of skill or knowledge.

PM Narendra Modi couldn’t control his laughter on hearing the term, and took a swipe at his opponent (hinting at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi): “If I use this word during elections, people will wonder who am I referring to. If I say it, you will assume it for a particular person.”

Interestingly, even before explaining the meaning of the word, PM Modi had begun laughing. The impressed gamers commented: “Sir already knows the meaning of this term”. PM Modi also taught them his gaming-like terminology “P2G2”, which is said means “Pro People, Good Governance”.

The session ended with elated gamers playing video games with PM Modi, and one of them remarking: “Dekh mummy, tera beta Modi ji se milke aaya hai (Look mom, your son met Prime Minister Modi).”
